Meet Your Guide
Captain Michael Evans
Michael, a Baton Rouge native, developed a love for fishing at an early age, exploring the saltwater marshes and freshwater ponds of Louisiana. After earning a Bachelor’s in Political Science from LSU, he moved to Jackson, WY, where his passion for fly fishing deepened. As a guide in Wyoming, Michael realized his true calling: sharing unforgettable fishing experiences. He soon returned to Louisiana, where he now hunts monster redfish and provides anglers with the opportunity to land the fish of a lifetime.
A USCG Certified Captain, Michael operates a Hell’s Bay Marquesa, a top-tier skiff designed for navigating the shallow waters of Louisiana’s renowned redfish territory. He primarily fishes out of Hopedale, LA—just a 45-minute drive from New Orleans—where vast marshlands offer some of the best redfishing in the world. One encounter with a bull redfish, pulling deep into your backing, is enough to spark a lifelong passion for this remarkable sport and fishery.
Our Waters
The Biloxi Marsh is a stunning ecosystem teeming with life, for anglers, it offers some of the most pristine and productive saltwater flats in the region, particularly for targeting the legendary redfish. The marsh’s shallow, clear waters allow for excellent sight fishing, where the thrill comes from spotting tailing reds, making deliberate casts, and watching as these powerful fish charge your fly.
